Opportunity Knocks

August 1, 2017

A fantastic turnout at Training Kings Leicester, set the scene for an exciting evening with not one but two speakers ready to perform the star turn. There was a great buzz about the evening, with the room ablaze in conversation and contemplation, new alliances forged, and friendships kindled. Everyone left the meeting feeling energised, and enthusiastic about their fellow colleagues, and their own businesses, whether flourishing or just starting out on the road ahead.

First out of the starting blocks was Chris Green of Calloway Green who took us on a tour into the customers mind, an interesting place indeed. Enlightening information on “entering into the conversation already taking place in the customers mind” (Robert Collier) gave an invaluable insight into how to get your message across. Real world examples of mastery in this area provided food for thought, (or literally drink in one example!), as well as some practical tips for helping your voice be heard, above the relentless modern digital maelstrom. Leaving with some key questions for us to ask ourselves about marketing along with some great advice: “Just Do It!”, we gained some great tools and tips for our businesses.

Last and by no means least was the treat of hearing the dulcet tones of ‘Voice Over Talent’ Duncan Lawrence. Having followed an illustrious career in IT, (with being a DJ thrown in for good measure) he has overcome adversity to step into the role, he was born to do – professional voice overs. In fact, he is the voice of De Montfort University clearing system. Combining his previous career experience by using his own mixing studio, Duncan is aiming to become ‘The Go to Voice Over Specialist in Leicester’. Judging by what we heard, he is well on his way. Leaving us with a final reminder from scripture which has served him well. Rom 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose”.

We’d love to see you at the next Training Kings Leicester dinner event,
