Training Kings Chelsea
On Saturday 10th December 2016 the members and visitors at Training Kings Chelsea shared a hot breakfast together, networked and added value to one another by sharing their personal and professional development stories.
In addition to this two dynamic speakers had been invited to inspire and motivate the group. First to speak was Mervyn Barrett (an Inevitability Coach). I have met many coaches but never one titled as this! Mervyn’s talk immediately challenged us to acknowledge our comfort zones and recognise that we need to leave them behind. He used sporting analogies to demonstrate his point about being engaged in our own lives – ‘You cannot affect what goes on, on the pitch, if you are standing in the stalls’.
Our next speaker was Carl Hart (Director of Gorilla Group) who shared his story of how he reached a low in his personal life and came to (what for him then) was a startling revelation that God had a particular purpose and that he couldn’t fulfil heading in the direction he had been going. He spoke about unlearning old habits and developing new positive ones to replace them. He also advised us not to ‘major in minor things’. Carl’s searing honesty had a major impact on all listening. ‘Entrepreneurship is not for everyone’, he said, ‘but you can, if you want to, make a decision to go into the unknown’.
We also heard from our members who imparted encouragement to others as they shared how their businesses and entrepreneurial endeavours had grown by being a part of Training Kings.
